EUROGUSS Studio Edition

Award ceremony: European Die Casting Award 2022

Almost 30 outstanding, innovative, sustainable and technically sophisticated die cast parts, 10 winners, 10 jury members, 3 material categories and 1 audience award. This is the first European Die Casting Award 2022. The highlight was the EUROGUSS Studio Edition on January 18th, 2022. In a professional studio production, the winners were honored, the award-winning parts were presented, and an interesting program ushered in the die casting year 2022.

The EUROGUSS trade show is actually the kick-off event for the industry every two years. But like so many events, Corona is throwing a spanner in the works. At the request of the exhibitors, the trade show has been postponed to June 2022. But this doesn't means stagnation. With the EUROGUSS Studio Edition, the organizers have succeeded in making a skilful impact. The central element: the award ceremony for the first European Die Casting Award. Here, the respective 1st to 3rd places were finally unveiled and it was announced which companies were behind the award-winning components.

The event was rounded off by an interesting program. Laura Therese Heinl from the Chair of Corporate Sustainability Management at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg presented initial insights into the EUROGUSS sustainability study, and in the panel discussion on the topic "Casting under Pressure? Opportunities and challenges for the die casting industry in 2022", moderator Martin Vogt, BDG, and the three industry experts Dr. Ioannis Ioannidis, CEO Oskar Frech GmbH & Co. KG and Chairman of VDMA Metallurgy & President of CEMAFON, Hartmut Fischer, Managing Director of STIHL Magnesium Die Casting and Chairman of the Association of German Die Casting Companies (VDD), and Thomas Reuther, Member of the Board of TRIMET Aluminium SE and Chairman of the Aluminium Recycling Association at Aluminium Deutschland e.V., discussed the future of the die casting industry.

With more than 1,000 viewers, the live broadcast was a complete success and gives reason to hope for an interesting trade show in June.
