These are the best die casting products at EUROGUSS 2022

When the ten die casting experts from research and practice met at the Haus der Gießerei-Industrie in Düsseldorf on October 7th, almost thirty casting products made of aluminum, zinc and magnesium awaited them. Already in its first year, the newly launched European Die Casting Award organized by the Verband Deutscher Druckgießereien e.V. (VDD) and the EUROGUSS trade show has met with great interest among die casting foundries. Supported by the Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie e.V. (BDG), the Aluminium Deutschland e. V. (AD) and the European Magnesium Research Association e.V. (EFM), awards are given to the most innovative and technically outstanding die casting products made of aluminum, magnesium and zinc.

During the judging session, the distinguished experts had the opportunity to closely examine the parts and, with the support of uniform information sheets on the individual castings, evaluate them according to various criteria. Specifically, the judging took into account quality, innovation, cost-effectiveness, resource-efficient design, degree of difficulty, sustainability and potential displacement of other materials. The producers of the die castings submitted were deliberately kept secret to enable a largely neutral evaluation.

For each material the places one to three were selected. In the end the jury decided on a total of ten winning parts, as there was a tie for one place. Please find the winners in alphabetical order below:

The exact allocation of the places one to three in each material category and the assignment of manufacturers will be announced during the opening event of EUROGUSS 2022 on January 17th, 2022. The participants of the event will also have the opportunity to vote for an audience award among the ten winners. The award ceremony on January 18th, 2022 will take place during the press tour during which the certificate and the EUROGUSS award will be handed over.
